Emma Jay Adams is our #8 grandchild and as you can see in the picture...she wanted to make sure I knew she was 1 and was rather offended that I haven't posted about her yet. She turned 1 on October 13th. She is actually the oldest out of the 4 grandbabies that were born all within weeks of one another AND the only girl! She'll have 3 boy cousins her age to deal with her entire life!
These pictures were taken by her Auntie Lou (Shaila) while Emma was staying with me when her Mommy and Daddy flew off to France for a week. They left December 31 and I had the blessing of having her for 5 of those days then she went to share the remaining days with Grandma Adams. It was great having here around without her parents and having the opportunity to really bond with her. She lives in Geneva, New York right now while her Daddy completes his masters degree at Cornell University. When he's done in May 2010, they'll move back to Ephrata to work at the family business, Willow Drive Nursery. It will be wonderful having them back home and close to share precious moments with.
They live just minutes from the Sacred Grove (above left). When Emma was born, Mom and I had the blessing of being able to fly back to New York for her birth and while we were there we were able to visit the Church history sites that are so close to where they live. Thus....that's the reason Leisha and Richard named her, Emma. The above right picture of Emma is on the Smith farm right next to the Sacred Grove. I hope to go back before they move home and visit these sacred sites again. It was such a wonderful and spiritual experience.
(Notice each side of Emma's face is a different expression! Cover up one side and then the other. The left side has a peaceful expression and the right side has a pouty expression! It's such a unique and cute picture!)
Emma, GraMimi loves you so much! You are such a precious baby girl and I miss you everyday! Thank you for letting me take care of you those few and fast days! You are another blessing and joy added to our family tree!

Lucky baby, Lucky Grammi! She is so cute. I love that little pouty picture! Why?
Cute post Mom. I was begining to think you wanted to block those 5 days from your memory. Just kidding! Thanks again for watching her for us! She kisses your picture everyday! She kisses Poppie's picture too (well more like licks it, same thing)
I LOVE that first photo with Emma holding up her finger. SO cute!! And of course the last one with her eyebrow. Never have to guess what that girl thinks of you. Of course we know you loves you and never let you out of her sight! Too cute that she kisses (or licks, whatever) your photo everyday. That has to melt a grandma's heart!
