She's my childhood friend, Nancy. She's from Honeyville....

Okay...so I've reconnected with a childhood friend. I found her on Facebook last fall and we've enjoyed renewing our friendship through Facebook and our blogs. Our mother's were best friends when we lived in Honeyville, Utah. In fact, their family felt more like relatives than friends. We were together a lot because of our mothers. We even took a trip to Yellowstone together as families and both of our mother's were pregnant at the time!

I realized I must talk about her quite frequently. I had received a bag of candied walnuts from her in the mail for Christmas. My daughters, Shaila and Leisha were visiting at the house and asked about the walnuts. I said, "They're from Nancy"....and started into the explanation of who she is. Then Shaila took over the conversation saying, ".....she's my childhood friend from Honeyville. We recently reconnected on Facebook. She's Travis' age and we used to tease him about her............." and yes, she was being sarcastic!! Then she said, "Mom! We know who Nancy is!"

I think I stood there with my mouth hanging opened for a moment before we all started laughing! It made me feel like one of those old ladies that always repeats herself! Please tell me I'm not heading down THAT highway yet! But there's no question in my mind now that my children definitely know who Nancy is!

No further explanations needed.............

I am laughing OUT LOUD. I had the same converstaion with my kids-yes, they know who Marion is. Funny! One line is different-and Travis is named for her brother. And not that Travis & I ever had anything going on, it was going to be either Trevor or Travis. I remember it was Travis who told me about MR. SC-in the 4th grade and then I told the whole class during show and tell. He laughed at me.
Anyway, I love the reconnection. I wonder why our moms didn't have us be penpals! Thanks for your friendship. I look forward to learning more about you in 2010! XOXOXO

How fun to reconnect with a friend. Thanks for being such a kind friend to me during my time here in Moses Lake. I can't tell you how hard it was to leave the comfort of my children, close friends, the temple, a wonderful home, more friends, a ward that loved me and move 1400 miles away to so many unknowns. I still don't know how long we will be able to stay, but I cherish the friendships that have been woven over the past 7 months. Thanks for your amazing example to all of us! Maybe one of these days I'll get brave enough and do a blog.

My childhood friend just invited me to be her friend on face book and I was the first one. It was so fun, because we were each others friends since first grade, till now.
